The Daily Wire tells how “Dolly Parton Refuses Statue In Tennessee State Capitol“. Dolly Parton, known for her country music career, has helped many people. Recently the Tennessee Legislative Branch proposed a bill to erect a statue of her. They wished to honor her spirit, leadership, compassion and kindness.
Instead, Parton asked the Legislature to remove that bill. She said that while honored, she did not feel it appropriate to put up the statue now. She did comment that if after she died if the state wished to honor her memory with a statue she would gladly stand as a proud Tennessean. For now, it seems a statue of her will not be erected, but maybe in the future.
