Pope Visits Lutheran Church

Pope John Paul II visits a Lutheran church in 1983. This was the first-ever visit of a Pope to a Lutheran church. Pope John Paul II became Pope in 1978. From his first year, he focused on the global church and interfaith connections. This includes participating in service in a Lutheran church in 1983.
