Social Media Censorship – Losing Our Right to Free Speech

CBS tells us about more social media censorship in “Twitter suspends Trump allies Michael Flynn and Sidney Powell for sharing QAnon content“. Twitter claims that the two people broke their policies by posting about QAnon, calling it a harmful group. Then, after a twelve-hour freeze of Trump’s Twitter account, they permanently suspended his account. Facebook has also removed Trump.

Opinion on Social Media Censorship

Honestly, who died and made them king? Why do they have the right to tell us what we can talk about. Removing Trump and then two of his allies feels like a social media censorship and removing our right to free speech. When we take away the ability of people to talk and discuss ideas and differing points of view, we remove progress. How can you know what idea works best if you never see something different?

Social Media, Twitter, Facebook, and all, need to stop censoring. That is not their job. They do not have the right to tell me what to think, feel, or say. In another example of this, Google, Amazon, and Apple have all refused to allow the new social media platform, Parler, because it did not do any censoring. This needs to stop. Enough is enough and we need to stop letting them get away with the censoring.
