SpaceX Entering Space This Year

CBS News tells us that “SpaceX announces plans for first all-civilian space flight to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital“. SpaceX, the company owned by Elon Musk, has announced an all civilian flight to space. They plan to fly out by the end of the year.

This flight will go to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The rocket named Inspiration 4 has four seats. Jared Isaacman will pilot the rocket. The three other seats will go to a frontline healthcare worker, someone who makes a significant donation to St. Jude, and an entrepreneur. The goal of the flight is to earn 200 million dollars to donate to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

I think this is a worthy endeavor. Any other tickets will cost quite a lot of money, but that makes sense. Building and flying a rocket does not come cheap. Maybe eventually we will enter the science fiction world of living throughout the galaxy.
