NBC News informs us about current bills in “House passes historic bill to decriminalize cannabis“. Many states have passed bills to decriminalize marijuana use. The federal government is now trying to pass a bill to that effect.
The bill, called the MORE Act, decriminalizes marijuana and makes it easier to find. It allows veterans access to the drug through doctors. While the House passed the bill, they do not believe the Senate will pass it.
Opinion on Cannabis Decriminalized
I’m unsure why they feel the need for a federal law. Many states have some form of access to medical marijuana. I understand that drug-related crimes will go down, but not sure why that matters. I have to agree with what a Senate Spokesman said that right now we should focus on helping people with pandemic related struggles rather than decriminalize marijuana.
