Last year, George Floyd died during his arrest. This has resulted in the Derek Chauvin trial. Derek Chauvin was one of the arresting officers.
At this time the prosecution attempts to show that Chauvin used unnecessary force in a way that resulted in the death of George Floyd. One witness refuses to testify invoking the fifth amendment against self-incrimination. This witness was in the car next to Floyd when the police arrived. This man had multiple warrants out for his arrest and does not want to testify. Will this harm the prosecution’s case? This man has mentioned that he was a key witness.
