CBS News gives the sad announcement that “Prince Philip, husband of Queen Elizabeth II, dead at 99”. The royal family announced his passing today. Over the last few months, Prince Philip has been hospitalized and underwent heart surgery. Sadly, his years have caught up to him and he passed away.
Prince Philip met Queen Elizabeth II when he escorted her on a tour. The two married in 1947, in a televised event. They seemed to have had a loving marriage that lasted for over 73 years. His family and friends around the world will miss him.
